Therefore, many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did (raise Lazarus from the dead), put their faith in him. But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. John 11:45-46

The raising of Lazarus became a time of immeasurable gain for those who trusted that Jesus had a good heart. They had watched Jesus mourn with them and said, “See how He loved him.” Their regard for the goodness of Jesus prepared them to acknowledge that He was God when Lazarus came out of the tomb.

In contrast to these who came to faith, others in the crowd had earlier grumbled, “If He really loved him, He would not have allowed him to die.” Their determination that Jesus must prove Himself by acting in certain ways at certain times would blind them. Even this glorious miracle would not convince them that, in Jesus, God was touching their lives.

Criticizing God for life’s disappointments reduces our ability to recognize evidence of His power and majesty. In order to discern that God is at work in and around us we need to abandon stipulations about what that work must be. When we simply trust God’s good heart we develop minds that can recognize His wonders.

Daily Quotes of Inspiration
""Your future is not an occurrence but a process, a work in progress. It's a road you have to pave. The hardships of life should not destroy your capacity to do well. The state of your life is nothing more than the reflection of the state of your mind.""
